How we measure

Once a minute, each service is checked at its public address, through DNS, our CDN and our load balancer, the same way your requests reach it. The checks run from our own infrastructure in AWS us-east-1.

A check passes when the service gives its expected answer in time. Three failed checks in a row open an incident here automatically; three passing checks in a row resolve it. Our engineers add what they learn to the incident as they work on it.

Degraded
More than 1 in 10 checks answered slowly.
Partial outage
At least one check failed.
Major outage
Checks failed for 30 minutes or more that day.
